So what is it, well our UPnP AV Player enables you to browse and view your Pictures, watch your Videos and listen to your Audio tracks that you have stored upon a UPnP Media server thats connected to the same Wifi network as your Touchpad, upon your Touchpad.
You can also import media from your UPnP Media Server onto your Touchpad for viewing whilst not connected to your Wifi network.
Here are a few screenshots of the key features.

where do I get this?
Hi Ben,
Just waiting for HP to add to the cataloge.
Thanks
Richard
Richard,
This has a nice clean layout. Is it possible to have a free app to use for testing your discovery mode (possibly with lots of debugging output)? Bhome's free app doesn't see my DLNA server (serviio) on my LAN, but my other DLNA clients (on other machines) have no issue. It's nice to know if it will or won't work before a purchase.
Regards,
Gary
Ben and Gary, the apps now available in the App Catalog.
There is a fully functioning free version for you to test before purchasing.
These are the prices for the full version.
Thanks
Richard
As of 21 August, I don't see the app in the catalog. What title should I search under?
search for "upnp" it should find it.
Only the Bhome app shows up.
Hi Eric,
What country are you in?
If you could let me know, I'll contact HP and see if theres something wrong.
Thanks
Richard
USA. Thanks.
Hi Eric,
one more question, is your touchpad on webOS 3.0.2, or still on 3.0.0 as the app needs 3.0.2.
you can check by going to the Settings tab on the launcher and opening the system updates app.
thanks
Richard
The update to 3.02 just came through this morning and the app now appears in the catalog. I will give it a try. Thanks.
Hi Richard,
I'm a user from Australia.
Our app store does not cater for paid apps :(
how can I pay and get this app onto my TP?
Hi Richard, i'm also from australia. Our paid app store is up and running but I haven't seen this jn our store yet. Are you able to add this to the australian catalogue?
thanks very much.
Hi Alan,
I have marked this as available for Australia and New Zealand, several days ago. Just waiting for HP to action it.
thanks
richard
I used the Discovery (free) version for about 5 days last week, and found it to be slow but worked very well. Came back to buy the full version this week and noticed an Update to the (free) version I was using. Downloaded the update, and now the app cannot find my upnp server at all. I had already updated the oS to 3.0.2, I'm in the USA, and nothing else is any different than it was from last week, except the update. Have also restarted the TouchPad - no luck.
Please disregard my above post... I've discovered the issue and it was an ID10T error (that spells 'idiot').
It's working just fine - going for full purchase. Thank you ever so much for developing this capability - this Rocks!
Hi Richard,
I download free version UPNP yesterday. Not sure if I missed something. My touchpad and PC is on same WIFI. I can find my PC (OS Win 7) name and touchpad name (2 Media server) in "Server Discovery" page. But there is no folder in "Folder Structure" page. How can I copy my MP3 from my PC to touchpad by UPNP?
Thanks
Hi I have purchased this app. But I'm not that impressed as video and mp3 audio stutter and do not play smoothly. Another app in the store, manages to play everything ok with no stuttering. Do you know of the issue and if so is there a patch lined up for it?
Regards
Stuart
Hi taktha, is all your media accessable via Windows Media Player and have you turned on Media Streaming.
This guide should help you set it up if not already done.

Let me know how you get on.
Hi Stuart,
Thanks for buying, I've not heard of this issue from anybody else, I'll take a look though and will patch. What media server are you running?
Thanks
Richard
Hi Richard,
Thanks for your reply. It works like magic. One more question. Does your full version support RMVB, AVI, WMV format? Do you have plan to support these formats later if not?
Richard,
Is there a way to disable the extension detection. I am running mediatomb and I think I have transcoding setup properly but I keep all my files as a .mkv. So when I click it in the UPnP AV Player it automatically tells me the file format is not support. I am transcoding to mp4 so I need to be able to bypass the file extension check to see if it works.
Thanks
Vijay
I was wondering if anyone else was having issues with it loading the list from where you are streaming from very slowly. I have almost 4000 songs and it takes many minutes for the entire list to load for me to see all the songs available. Is this just something that I must live with, or do I need to tweaked settings somewhere?
adition for above comment,
I am streaming from my home computer which I setup to stream media, movies and music. This is done strictly on my home network. Computer has gigabit network adapter and router is gigabit dual band. I have the touchpad connected via the 5 ghz band.
How can I purchase the app if my touchpad doesn't allow me to create an account?
bamba 828
the application do n wa
Hi Richard. I so want to use your app, but for some reason, it finds the root of my NAS, but not any of the sub-directory locations. What do i need to do to see more than the root.
Thanks
Harold
We've just pushed version 1.1.0. This includes several fixes.
Stuart, the stuttering should be gone now :)
Vijay, give it a go now, instead of checking the file extension, it now checks the collection of files presented back from the server to find a compatible mimetype. (It used to just pick the first.)
Daniel, I've speeded up the browsing significantly so hopefully the new version is fine for you. If not, let me know.
HI Harold,
What UPnP server are you running on your NAS?
Thanks
Richard
Plese tell me where and how to buy this app. I would like to add it to my HP tocuhpad
Hi Kenny,
You should be able to purchase it from the HP App Catalog. It's under the "Entertainment" category.
Thanks
Richard
Hello Richard
I'm running Tversity. All of the computers on my network see the Tversity server. My Touchpad with upnp AV Player cannot see it however. I consistently get 'No Servers Found'. I tried with Windows Media Player as well - same result. Any suggestions?
Thank You.
Any plans on supporting other codecs that are not covered by the Touchpad stock player? (divx, mkv,....)
Good question. I am really liking the player and it was a good purchase. I also purchased Bhome but use thisone way more. If it supported divx, mkv, avi esp avi I would be so so happy even willing to pay a upgrade fee for it.
